The Journey to YANITED: Why I’m Introducing a New Collection, Not Rebranding
As the new year began, I started thinking about big changes—including a potential rebrand of my shop and page, 'hazdoeswhatever.’ What started in 2020 as a way to share whatever I was up to—illustrations, home projects, and photography—has grown into a passion project centred on football art, especially Manchester United artwork and Manchester United prints. By 2021, my focus had shifted entirely to creating illustrations and merchandise inspired by football culture. Naturally, I wondered if it was time to refine my brand.
The idea of rebranding to ‘YANITED’, a name inspired by Manchester United fans and the sense of unity the club represents, was compelling. It would have allowed me to lean fully into my love for United and focus everything under one name. But as I dug deeper and asked for feedback from my followers, it became clear that rebranding wasn’t the right move—at least, not entirely.
What I Learned from Your Feedback
The feedback I received was incredible. So many of you resonated with the phrase ‘YANITED,’ associating it with passion, unity, and the culture of Manchester United fans. For some, it felt like the perfect fit for my work. But others expressed concerns. Some felt that ‘YANITED’ was too niche and might alienate fans of other teams or those who appreciate the broader range of football content I share, like my shirt collection or non-United games.
A significant insight came from match-going fans, some of whom didn’t connect with the term as much as others. And ultimately, I realised that I didn’t want to limit myself to just one club. While United is my passion, I also love showcasing football moments, iconic shirts, and designs that resonate with fans across the sport. Most importantly, I want my shop and page to remain an extension of myself rather than feeling like a big, impersonal brand.
The Decision: YANITED as a Collection
Instead of rebranding, I’ve decided to introduce YANITED as a collection within my shop. This approach allows me to give the YANITED theme its own spotlight while keeping the flexibility to share all the other football-related content I love. This includes a continued focus on Manchester United artwork and prints, which remain central to my passion and creative output. The collection will feature bold designs inspired by Manchester United and the culture surrounding the club—a perfect fit for those who connect deeply with the YANITED concept.
This decision feels like the best of both worlds. It lets me stay true to myself, creating art that celebrates all aspects of football, while also embracing the energy and excitement that ‘YANITED’ represents.
What’s Next?
2025 is going to be an exciting year. I’ve got big plans for more artwork, more merch, and even new collaborations. Maybe there will be more billboards or other surprises along the way—who knows? The YANITED collection is just the beginning, and I can’t wait to see how it grows.
Thank you to everyone who shared their honest feedback. Your input has been invaluable in shaping this decision.
Here’s to a new chapter and an amazing year ahead. Check out the YANITED collection now and let me know what you think!
